Coating of Sintered NdFeB Magnet

　　

Coating quality is crucial to the operation of the sintered NdFeB magnets, especially in the usage of VCM, motor, loudspeaker and sensor. Besides the strict control of the coating process, the following methods are worked to test the quality.

Coating layer thickness measurement. The standard thickness is 15～20um for Zn coating layer, and total 15～20um for NiCuNi coating (first Ni layer 7～8um; second Cu layer 5～6um; the outer
Ni layer 4～5um).

Adhesive force test. Heat the coated sample to the stipulated temperature, take one hour (300℃ for NiCuNi; 200℃ for Zn), and put it into water. No break occurs after quenching.

Salt spray test. The standard lasting time for the different coating is as followed (hours).
